Three rules the tutor applies in every session, in this order.
It asks, it does not correct
Faced with a mistake, Kalan never says “that’s wrong”. It asks the child to revisit the step where things slipped. That is where learning happens.
Help rises one rung, never two
Each block unlocks a slightly sharper hint. On the last rung, Kalan works through a similar exercise — never the child’s own.
You see what is stuck, not marks
The parent dashboard shows what is mastered, what resists, and one concrete piece of advice. No averages, no rankings.
The mechanism

When a child gets stuck, Kalan climbs one rung. One only. Then it steps back down as soon as the child moves again. Here are all six, in order.
No rung contains the answer to the current exercise. That is enforced in code, not in tone: every release is tested against hundreds of attempts to get around it.

Look for a number that 2 divides into exactly, and that 3 divides into exactly. Try naming one.
